When I started this course I felt stressed and nervous. The classmates around me are excellent, which made me have a lot of pressure in the beginning of the learning process. I am very interested in design, at the same time, this course also exposed me to knowledge about business and media. Business and media courses are completely different from design, and I was lucky enough to learn about both pathways in this course. I think this helps me to have a comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry, and I also discovered the connection of these three pathways, which I never knew before. I also found that I am more good at it. For example, when working in media, I found that I am also good at photography. I like to add a sense of story to photography. It also made me feel like developing photography as my hobby.
The things I enjoyed on this course is that I see my progress, especially in illustration. I gradually found my own style. And in the practice again and again, the speed of my drawing has also been greatly improved. The study of the second term course also made me more academic. In the past, when I produced works, I liked to collect information from the Internet, and seldom did first-hand research. Through the study of term2 and term3, I realized how important primary research is. Moreover, I am also very fulfilled when I conduct my own first-hand research, and it will also deepen my understanding of the subject, which I think is very helpful to me.
I will study pattern cutting in October this year. I did a lot of experimenting with silhouettes and structures in term3. I also do a lot of tests in my spare time, which helps me to quickly identify the subject experiments I will be conducting during the judging process. This has a lot to do with the previous research, and it also makes my work more logical. If I had more time, I would do more research on the previous research. As the project progressed, my thinking became clearer and more ideas. I would love to express these ideas, not just in 3D work.
